Welcome to our blog for "Energy and Sustainability in Europe" for 2012 USC Maymester.

We will be traveling with 21 students to a variety of locations in southern Germany, including Freiburg, Stuttgart, and Munich.  Highlights include the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy, the Mercedes Benz Museum, and a working fusion reactor.  Social activities include Frühlingsfest (largest spring festival), the tallest church in the world (Ulmer Münster), and the classic Hofbräuhaus München.

I will try to post a blog entry daily to summarize our daily lives.  My wife is traveling with this group as the program assistant while our children stay home with their grandparents finishing their school year.  The photo above is from my sabbatical in 2010 when we lived in Germany for over a year.
