Day 7 (5/15/2022 - Stuttgart free day)

We checked in with everyone to make sure they made it back from their evening fun.  Many were off to some of the attractions in town for today. 

Ed and I spent our time (9 hours) doing as much in Stuttgart we could manage!  Video highlighting this endeavor is below:

Day 6 (5/14/2022 - Stuttgart)

It was an interesting day in many respects. We have never had a hiccup in our scheduling for tours in nine years, until today. The Mercedes-Benz Museum was closed despite our confirmed reservation. It seems something came up in April, which they needed to attend to over the last week - and didn’t inform me of this situation:

I guess it takes a week to run the auction, secure the funds, prepare the car to be shipped, etc!

So, we carried on to the Porsche Museum and that tour. 

Many came with us as we explored new laundry options since our usual option for all these years had been gutted recently, despite checking whether they were in business via the internet a few weeks ago!

Sigh!

Tomorrow they have a free day and funds we have allotted them so they may go to any museums, sites, etc that are cultural and their individual kind of fun!

Day 5 (5/13/2022 - Freiburg/ Stuttgart)

We finished our activities in Freiburg, traveled to Stuttgart and acquainted the students with getting around the city. All is well and all are in good spirits. It’s a good group and we are pleased to have them here I will work on today’s video tomorrow.

Day 4 (5/12/2022 - Strasbourg, France)

Well, this part of the trip was very uncertain until the last couple days. We were able to travel to and from Strasbourg, France with no issues. I am glad they were able to experience this historic town, specifically, we visited the UNESCO World Heritage site, Grand Íle.  The video compilation is below:

PS - we took a boat tour around the island. The footage is time lapsed and in two parts there were locks, you will see a lot of cement in both cases as we were raised up in one and lowered in the other…

Day 3 (5/11/2022 - Freiburg):

We all survived biking day!  It has been such amazing weather these last few days. So far in the trip, we have logged at least 25 walking miles, and 12 bike miles.

Day 2 (5/10/22 - Freiburg):

The students are in good shape and we enjoyed today’s program! Castle! Biomass, wind energy, organic / sustainable farming, wood chip heating, solar energy, and much more!

Day 1 (5/9/2022): Arrival day!

We have all students that were scheduled to arrive at the Frankfurt airport. We will meet one student in Freiburg. 

Our train to Freiburg was delayed by nearly 1.5 hours, but this group is already shining brightly because they handled the chaotic schedule changes very well and responded very well under the stress of last-minute track changes and incorrect train car numbers. 

We are off to a good start and I hope we continue with this trend throughout the trip.
